Genealogy is about more than searching for names in dusty records. Researchers often need to show that a historical document such as a will proves some fact about an event, person, or location. This may involve deductive logic and other types of analysis. With semantic technologies, we can use a process known as reification to work with statements about other statements. In this talk I will describe how reification can be used in historical and genealogical research.
